Purpose:
The BITE Lab, run by Andrea Goldschmidt, focuses on behavioral investigations of children’s and teens’ eating behavior. Ongoing protocols involve technology-based behavioral, cognitive, and neurobiological assessment of self-regulation factors involved in eating, weight, and related constructs (e.g., sleep). The Research Associate Sr will be responsible for tracking frequency of DSMB and investigator meetings and developing agenda/meeting minutes; creating and maintaining study-specific procedure manuals; managing upkeep of datasets (ensuring data are entered in timely manner, spot-checking for mistakes, etc.); tracking employee reimbursements, ordering materials, tech upkeep (e.g., renewing software licenses, logging loaner phone plans, etc.). The Research Associate Sr will independently execute job functions for research protocol(s). Mentor, train and assist with supervising junior research staff.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary statistical snalysis of project data and provide progress reports to the Principal Investigator as needed.
- Responsible for independently overseeing and conducting phone screens, interviews, evaluations, assessments and/or tests with research participants.
- Mentor, train and assist with supervising junior research staff as needed.
- Responsible for the submission of regular reports detailing the progress of the research.
- Discuss outcomes and participate in research and/or clinical decision-making process.
- Screen referrals.
- Initiate research participant recruitment efforts and share responsibility of overseeing accurate data collection.
- Assist with IRB and grant submissions as needed.
- Processing MRI data.
- Assist with preparation of scientific articles as needed.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology or related research field and 1 year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting
OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology or related research field and 3 years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Experience collecting, processing, and/or analyzing MRI data preferred.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
- Act 34 with renewal
