COVID-19 Vaccination Information

UPMC continues to comply with governmental guidance related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. All employees and affiliated staff of UPMC entities are considered essential health care workers and will be accountable to follow the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) federal vaccine mandate. To be compliant with the federal mandate, employees must complete the approved vaccination dosage regimen currently defined by the federal government. Compliance with the federal mandate is encouraged before hire. Medical and religious exemption requests may be submitted for consideration.

EMS Specialist, Quality Improvement

Description

Purpose:
Coordinate quality improvement activities of UPMC Prehospital Care Medical Command system.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with continue medical education programs for EMS providers.
  • Support and maintain technical assistance for emscharts clients.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with local government officials, EMS agencies, civil emergency services, county, regional and state agencies and other health care facilities.
  • Analyze and report on monthly indicators using approved template.
  • Assist with the organization and planning of EMS recognition events.
  • Coordinate quality improvement activities of UPMC Prehospital Care Medical Command system.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge of electronic patient record systems (EMMA and/or emscharts).Experience with HTML and related coding.Advanced degree in Emergency Medical Services or related field preferred.3 years of experience in EMS preferred.Instructor certification in BCLS, ACLS, PALS and trauma life support preferred.Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certification as a paramedic or licensure as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania or eligible for reciprocity preferred.
