Description

UPMC has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst II position in the Exchange Operations Department.  This is a full time position working Monday though Friday daylight hours.  This position will be a hybrid of working at home and/or in office, but could be subject to change.  Offices are located in the Steel building, downtown Pittsburg.

The Business Analyst II performs analysis of data and information for various UPMC products. Take leadership role in the enhancement, development, documentation, and communication of identified variances.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the implementation of new Pennie Exchange product requirements.
  • Assist departments to overcome challenges that affect the overall success of the ACA Individual Advantage product.
  • Perform requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation of annual renewal process for ACA membership.
  • Review, monitor, and incorporate new member communication notices and strategies to maintain membership and adhere to CMS regulated guidelines.
  • Assist in the department responsibility of reinstatetment approval/denial by researching individual requests from membership
  • Contribute to the implementation of yearly QHP filings
  • Audit annual ACA products within UPMC and Pennie by testing random demographics and end results to ensure accuracy or pricing and benefits filed.
  • Support  individual audit requests (internal and external) that ACA may receive from UPMC, CMS, and/or Pennie.
  • Coordinates functions and communications throughout the organization as a "hub" to ensure the successful delivery of the Exchange program.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive related experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience in financial and/or medical analysis required.
  • Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, with expert knowledge in Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, Cognos Reports, and other financial & statistical software packages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and forge strong interpersonal relationships within the department, with other departments, and with external audiences.
  • Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position.
  • Excellent planning, communication, documentation, organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
  • Advanced mathematical skills.
  • Ability to interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way.
  • Ability to effectively approach problem solving.
  • Ability to re-engineer processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze financial & clinical results and to comprehend forecasting models.
  • Knowledge and good understanding of all products and benefit designs of UPMC Health.
