Purpose:
The Education Coordinator, Paramedic will coordinates and manage the training and education of personnel for Community Life Team EMS. Actively participates in teaching classes for certification and recertification of EMS providers. Actively participates in the teaching and coordinator of the Citizen CPR Program. Responsible for the utilization of resources, including staff and supplies, and the review and evaluation of training needs for personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Able to lift, push, shift objects/persons of variable weights.

- Deals with highly stressful situations and changing events.
- Must have maximum dexterity, auditory, and visual acuity and communication ability.
- Must be optimistic, enthusiastic, and able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Must be able to work effectively with all members of the Emergency Care Team.
- Any/all interactions with patients/significant others need to be courteous and respectful. Uses standards of customer satisfaction as a measure of effectiveness.
- Spends a minimum of three (3) days per week directly precepting employees in the field.
- Operates company vehicles in accordance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code.
- Performs duties of patient care as an EMT Paramedic, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health state protocols.
- Completes assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely fashion, requiring minimal follow-up.
- Assists in the public relations efforts of the company such as station tours, demonstrations, preparing printed materials, attending conferences/meetings, speaking engagements, etc.
- Assists in updating the standard operating procedures for the department.
- Manages new employee orientation for initial training, documentation and ensuring competencies in the field
- Manages the Citizen CPR program, which includes new certification of citizens, recertification.
- Administrators the CLT orientation program and Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs to assure new and current employees are:
- Adhering to clinical policies, procedures an PA DOH protocols
- Assigns new personnel/ride alongs to preceptors or other appropriate personnel for field training purposes
- Input on performance evaluationso Recommends disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Serves in lead role of the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program to identify staff deficiencies and implement training programs to resolve deficiencies.
- Assumes primary responsibility for the training of personnel, including:
- Certification in required course for new employees.
- Recertification in required courses for all personnel.
- Continuing education of personnel on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years field Paramedic experience.
- Ability to acquire and maintain medical command privileges.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Pennsylvania certified Paramedic.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS Instructor Certifications.
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor Certification.
- Valid Pennsylvania Vehicle Operators License.
- Appropriate Hazardous Materials Certification.
- Appropriate Blood Borne Pathogens training.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
