The Supervisor of Supply Chain Operations supervises the Material, Laundry, and Courier functions. This role is responsible for operations, quality of service provided, employee development, safety, and short/long-term planning. This position manages and monitors incoming inventory and distribution processes. This is a full-time position working mainly daylight hours but additional hours may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend interdepartmental and department policies and procedures on operations in areas of responsibility.
- Maintain a positive attitude during interactions with all hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
- Monitor the completion of employee time cards and associated documentation.
- Manage Linen Department with delivery and pickups campus-wide. Manage Courier customer service, specimen pickups, and supply deliveries.
- Implement and maintain accurate position descriptions and performance standards for all subordinates; review the job performance of each subordinate on an annual or as required basis and make recommendations to the Manager concerning potential merit increments.
- Ensure all personnel is aware of hospital policies and procedures; enact disciplinary procedures when appropriate.
- Implement and interpret monthly data for Material Management functions; departmental performances, pinpoint problems, develop alternatives, and advise on significant trends.
- Serve as Material Management representative to the hospital user groups for all operations-related issues, including purchasing and financial issues to ensure proper levels of service satisfaction.
- Make weekly rounds to Nursing Units, review PARs, and speak with necessary personnel to develop improvement opportunities.
- Keep the department in a clean and organized fashion.
- Maintain an awareness of any change in departmental procedures, policies, and safety.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and five years experience OR four year degree and three years of experience
- Supervisory experienced required
