UPMC St. Margaret is hiring a Full Time Interventional Tech to join our imaging team!
Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience and manager discretion at time of offer!
Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
- Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
- Performs all job responsibilities of an IR Tech 1.
- Demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in supplies and the use of the supplies during procedures.
- Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
- Assist with Fluoro time monitoring, the management of medical editing request, and annual lead apron compliance checks.
- Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
Qualifications
Interventional Technologist:
Pay Grade: $23.71- $37.00
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
- CPR or BLS Required.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Interventional Tech Multi Skill:
Pay Grade: $23.71- $37.00
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology required.
- When rotating between two specialties, must hold registry in each specialty.
- Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Interventional Tech Adv:
Pay Grade: $24.91- $40.02
- Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology.
- Minimum of 2 years IR experience require.
- Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Interventional Tech Adv Multi Skill:
Pay Grade: $24.91- $40.02
- Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology required.
- 2 years of experience required in primary specialty.
- Must hold registry in each specialty.
- Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Interventional Tech Specialist:
Pay Grade: $25.66- $42.64
- Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology.
- Minimum of 3 years IR experience require.
- Teaching experience not requires.
- Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist. Secondary registration in VI required or equivalent. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
