Description
The Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Palliative Care and Medical Ethics at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Palliative Care Physician Educator.
The Section focuses on providing great patient care, teaching both primary and specialty palliative care, and advancing research. The group has a large presence at UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC Mercy, and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, as well as outpatient clinics throughout the area. Our team consists of physicians, advanced practice providers, a pharmacist, and a psychologist - all of whom have expertise in palliative care and work closely with other clinicians to coordinate care.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Attending on the hospital-based palliative consult service
• Clinical opportunities in the office, community and long term
care with a focus on virtual visits
• Developing innovative programs with specialties such as
geriatrics and nephrology
• Teaching at all levels of medical education
Qualifications
Candidates must have board certification or board eligibility in palliative medicine. Educational leadership opportunities available for mid-career candidates.
