Description

UPMC Travel Staffing is seeking a Program Director, Travel Staffing Business Operations, to support the Director, Travel Staffing Operations and Analytics as a senior leader in all business aspects of UPMC Travel Staffing across the system. Use expertise in business process, logic and outstanding interpersonal skills to achieve division goals. Collect, investigate research, analyze and/or study clinical activities impacting departmental, organizational and system operations to assist in improving functions. Oversee the analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of the information handling technologies Information Management Systems within UPMC Travel Staffing. Identify and implement productivity enhancements, operational changes and actively participates in strategic planning. Lead specific efforts aimed at improving patient care processes within the organization following a designed quality improvement approach. These efforts also include engendering commitment, fostering cultural change, dissemination of skills and providing support for behavioral and process change.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with department leadership team to resolve operational issues, which allows Director, Travel Staffing Operations and Analytics to focus on strategy.

  • Manage all relationships with external agency vendors and vendor management system including responsibility for the overall results from the development and execution of strategies that support, strengthen and grow external relationships.

  • Oversight of full external agency recruitment cycle including but not limited to sourcing, interviewing, booking, invoicing, reporting.

  • Primary contact for external agency escalations and assists Director, Travel Staffing Operations and Analytics with communication across the system.

  • Build partnerships across organizational, geographical and system boundaries to leverage knowledge and refine best practices.

  • Analyze clinical statistics and information to formulate conclusions and recommendations related to organizational operations.

  • Provide detailed analysis of projects related to both internal and external environments.

  • Provide support, preparation design of all correspondence and related documents for external agency operations.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with hospital unit leadership in analyzing and solving patient care issues.

  • Collaborate with all levels within the organization on issues that directly and/or indirectly affect patient care.

  • Resolve personnel issues that may arise with any aspect of patient care.

  • Serve as an expert operations advisor to the entire UPMC Travel Staffing leadership team, especially in areas of increased throughput, care redesign and productivity challenges.

  • Lead committees related to divisional goals and/or areas of special projects.

  • Maintain accountability for ongoing self-development and enrichment activities.

  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. Masters degree in business preferred.

  • Working with clients in a staffing, program, account or project management environment required.

  • 3-5 years healthcare experience required.

  • 3-5 years of progressive administrative or executive experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of management skills and ability to exercise independent judgment, while interacting with staff and outside agencies. Exceptional personal computer skills and experience required.
