UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Put your skills and expertise to work on challenging and rewarding initiatives alongside accomplished colleagues. Join our Corporate Finance Team today as an Accounting Analyst, Intermediate. 

In this role, you will provide for moderately complex accounting, analytical activities, and business processes associated with maintaining special purpose fund accounts, financial statements and reporting requirements for sponsored programs at UPMC.  This includes funds supporting children’s health and wellness, Covid-19 testing and treatment, youth violence prevention, opioid abuse and addiction recovery and HIV/AIDS patient support. This role will work in a hybrid capacity allowing onsite and remote flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with program leads across numerous UPMC Business Units regarding proper grant and restricted fund accounting, internal controls and reporting).
  • Coordinate administrative tasks, special projects and training programs as assigned, including workflow efficiency initiatives utilizing RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
  • Act as a resource for entry-level accountants or administrative staff.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Propose correcting entries.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Prepare and post moderately complex monthly and quarterly journal entries.
  • Create accounting analytics for internal and external reporting requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related business field required.
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience required.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and three years of related work experience.
  • Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required, and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
