Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

The Department of Surgery, University of Pittsburgh Physicians at UPMC, is inviting applications for a faculty position in General Surgery.  The faculty member will play an integral role in the clinical care of surgical patients and have a strong involvement in medical student, resident, and fellow teaching.  

Responsibilities:

The qualified physician will be actively involved in patient care and medical student, resident, and fellow teaching. This position will provide patient care at UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a medical degree, completion of an accredited general surgery residency training program with eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. Applicants should be Board Certified with significant interest and ability in clinical care and teaching. Candidates should possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and evidence of interest in and involvement in clinical research and/or quality improvement activity.
