UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

Purpose:
Manage and implement new products and programs. Coordinate and file new products with the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance and coordinate and file product variations with the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance. Educate and train key department personnel impacted by new products and programs. Initiate group-specific product programs and interfacing with program organizers throughout the UPMC Health System.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate product filings with the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance.
  • Coordinate cost benefit analysis on proposed initiatives.
  • Consistently strive to ensure product regulatory compliance with all products.
  • Train and educate key departmental personnel impacted by the new products and programs.
  • Perform analysis and report on product financials, product costs trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Communicate effectively all issues that impact daily and ongoing operations.
  • Research, analyze, and report on competitive information and the changing marketplace.
  • Communicate all programs to Marketing Staff to ensure programs are understood and marketed to potential and current members.
  • Submit weekly report to Product Management & Development, Manager that outlines all activities and meetings.
  • Accountable for performing miscellaneous assignments delegated by Product Management & Development, Manager.
  • Work with different functional areas within Health Plan to create, implement and monitor new products and programs.
  • Evaluate the impact new Federal and States mandates have on new and existing products.
  • Participate on committees that impact/pertain to product development.
  • Input on group contract write-ups and initiatives.
  • Analyze and manage a select product portfolio as assigned by the Manager of Product Management & Development.
  • Attend continuous education classes to increase knowledge in the health care industry.

 

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree required.
  • 3 years of experience in insurance or medical environment, or relevant product management experience
  • Regulatory and product filing or equivalent experience
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Word, Excel and Access as well as Internet Explorer.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with various levels of staff throughout the corporation.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise and direct projects as needed.
