Purpose:
UPP Emergency Medicine is hiring a full-time Credentialing Coordinator for UPP Center for Community Hospitalist Medicine team located in Oakland. This position will be responsible for the provider credentialing for UPP Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care and CCHM.
The Department of Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care and CCHM are always growing and taking on new programs. With this growth this allows for growth within the department. This role has potential of 2 days remote work after successful training period and meeting the WFH criteria for the department.
Performs all aspects of credentialing and enrolment operations for the department and functions as a resource to the department managers and/or directors. Functions as the expert user for the software applications. Assists with database integrity and maintenance. Performs application processing, data entry and verification functions according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all aspects of credentialing and enrollment operations for the department and functions as a resource to the department/practice managers and/or directors.
- Manages the process for follow up for application and reapplication packets received incomplete.
- Functions as the expert user for the software application and provides help and issue resolution for the staff, the users and the practitioners.
- Works to resolve software related issues and to maximize the use of technology and functionality.
- Develops data entry standards to maintain the integrity of the database and completes projects to assure the completeness and accuracy of the data.
- Performs all the duties of the Credentialing Coordinator including application processing, data entry and verification functions according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Competent in the job responsibilities of fellow coworkers and perform their job duties, as necessary.
- Assists with the development, implementation and revision of processes, policies and procedures to assure the effective and efficient operation of the department.
- Provides initial orientation and ongoing training in the use of the software and for application processing and verification.
- Assists with competency assessment of the staff annually and as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent data entry and computer software application skills required and must have a desire to maximize the use of technology to automate processes.
- Detail oriented person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Prior credentialing experience preferred.
- Experience with both JCAHO and NCQA standards preferred.
