Are you currently enrolled in a college or University and looking for a Summer Internship opportunity? UPMC Insurance Division has just what you are looking for. The UPMC Insurance Division has an exciting opportunity for a Summer Internship position for the Health Plan Clinical Training and Development department. This will be a full-time temporary opportunity working Monday through Friday daylight hours. This is a remote position.
We are seeking college students majoring in Dietetics, Nutrition, Health Coaching, Social Work or Masters in Public Health. This will be a 10-12 week paid summer internship program open to all undergraduate college students enrolled in an accredited college or university. This program is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and direct exposure to real world business challenges and solutions in the Insurance Service Division of UPMC.
The internship program is offering a competitive pay rate of $17.00 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain neat and organized files and electronic databases
- Maintain and purchase office supplies as needed
- Prepare letters, memos, and reports
- Schedule and coordinate internal and external appointments, calendars, and meetings
- May entail work with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Support all department personnel with duties including but not limited to answering phones, taking messages, copying, filing and faxing
- Greet and assist any visitors to the department
Other Responsibilities:
- Preparing training materials
- reporting
- summarizing
- evaluations and results
- presenting materials for health coaches
- service coordination
- working with social workers and nurses
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Strongly Preferred.
- Post-secondary education is preferred.
- One year of administrative support working experience is highly preferred.
- Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint.
- Must possess typing skills and working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar and spreadsheets.
- Must possess the ability to learn and effectively use various software programs.
- General knowledge and experience with office equipment such as copiers, multi-line phone systems, fax machines and paging systems.
