COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Surgical Scheduling Coordinator (Full-Time) - Operating Room (UPMC Passavant)

ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to support the Operating Room/Surgical Services Department at the McCandless location. This is a Monday-Friday, daylight position that does not require weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts.


Schedules all surgical procedures for the surgical services department (excluding the GI Lab).

Responsibilities:

  • Make corrections from previous day in software.
  • Print schedule and distribute to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain daily communication with OR Unit Director.
  • Choose and print appropriate preference cards for daily procedures.
  • Communicate changes in schedule with appropriate department.
  • Ensure accurate organization of surgical schedule.
  • Communicate with physician offices related to scheduling process.
  • Maintain block scheduling as appropriate.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Secretarial Science or Business or equivalent experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
