UPMC Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is hiring a Senior Administrative Assistant for the Oakland campus.  This role is Monday - Friday daylight shift. Executive/Physician Calendar management for Chief and other immediate site leadership, lead/assist in clinical and operational administrative functions and workflows, prepare detailed daily reports, manage communications, coordinate/prepare meeting material (presentations, reports, etc.), special projects, expense reports, support other department physicians if needed for the team.

  • Executive/Physician Calendar management for Chief and other immediate site leadership
  • You will be performing in a senior level support role and managing advanced functions in this role.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills are required.  Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills are necessary.  Ability to identify problems, prioritize and provide solutions. 
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy is required for all tasks.  Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute multiple assignments in a high volume, time sensitive environment while always maintaining composure. Experience in guest relations is beneficial.
  • You will function well under pressure and must be able to function with minimal supervision. 
  • Provides input to presentations and other department/supervisor work (i.e., supervisor provides general thought and ee will draft more material based on initial ideas).
  • Develops and sends correspondence on behalf of department and department head (i.e., draft and send meeting minutes, draft and send meeting events).


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years' experience in an increasingly responsible administrative support role.
  • Ability to perform advanced functions in word processing, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.
  • Ability to use applicable MS Suite products.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures. Working knowledge of accounting and financial principles and functions.
