UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a compassionate Behavioral Health Therapist to join their team of life-changers! 


As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you'll provide independent clinical treatment services to the targeted populations as part of an outpatient treatment program designed to service patients with a mental health diagnosis who meet dimensions for outpatient and/or partial hospitalization treatment criteria.
Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at time of offer. 

  • Behavioral Health Therapist I rates start at $19.34/hr. 
  • Behavioral Health Therapist III rates start at $23.58/hr.

We are currently offering a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
•    $5,000 with a 1-year commitment.
•    $7,000 with a 2-year commitment.
•    $10,000 with a 3-year commitment.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Behavioral Health Therapists conduct & document assessments of new patients.
  • Create a treatment plan that includes an effective continuum of therapeutic, supportive, and other services for the patients a variety and complexity of needs serviced by the program.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to determine need for additional services or recommendations or referrals.
  • Assess changing needs of patients and incorporates these into treatment plan.
  • Maintain daily records of clinical productivity in the program
  • Participate in the quality assurance and performance improvement activities of the program.   
  • Provide individual and group therapy to patients in the program and engages families in the assessment and treatment processes when indicated. Provides education to patients on recovery.

Qualifications

Behavioral Health Therapist I

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. 
  • One year of clinical experience preferred.

Behavioral Health Therapist II

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
  • Two years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions required.

Behavioral Health Therapist III

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
  • Four years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions required. 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Per Maryland state regulations:

  • If candidate has a master’s degree in Psychology, they must hold a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) or a LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor). 
  • If candidate has a master’s degree in Social Work, they must hold a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work)
