Hershey Pediatric Center is a small, busy office with 4 providers that is growing and needs a Full-time LPN to join their team. The LPN is a valuable part of the clinical staff at this location. As part of our team, you will enjoy no weekend work, no on-call, and a set weekly schedule. You will be a successful LPN at this office if you can multi-task, critically think on your feet, and enjoy working with a wonderful group of coworkers. Hours will be Mondays 1:30pm-9pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:30am-5pm.
Responsibilities:
- Give injections to babies and children
- Phone triage
- Assist with small procedures such as, but not limited to, suture or staple removal
- Medication refills
- Pediatric wellness education to family members
- Work 1:1 with a provider each day, room the patients, take vital signs & weight, and assess their general condition
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions, and closely align with the American Academy of Pediatrics
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred, but not required
- Open to taking a newly graduated nurse
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
