We are hiring a Casual DUI Instructor to support UPMC - Mon Yough DUI Services.
The DUI Instructor is responsible for the instruction of Alcohol Highway Safety School. The incumbent will work at UPMC East Hospital and the McKeesport office from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday a few times per year, up to once a month.
Responsibilities:
- Each day of class clients will submit to breath testing. If client tests positive, follow directions that appear on the Consent to Breathalyzer Testing
- Adhere to all confidentiality agreements as required by state and federal law
- Instruct Alcohol Highway Safety Class (AHSS) in conjunction with the mandatory curriculum developed by the Pa Department of Transportation and the Pa DUI Association
- Maintain instructor certification as required by the Department of Transportation/Allegheny County Alcohol Highway Safety Program. As applicable, recertification is required every two years and it is the instructor's responsibility to stay current with the recertification process
- Complete all paperwork and documentation(s) required with class instruction in a timely and accurate manner
- Attend any required meetings scheduled by UPMC/DUI Program, PA DUI Association, Allegheny County Probation and Parole and Allegheny County Alcohol Highway Safety Program.
- Responsible for the collection and recording of fees assessed for class.
- Network with Allegheny County Probation and Parole Offices as needed. Maintain communication with and provide consultation to the Allegheny Co. courts, probation office, local District Judges and other referral sources
- If clients are recommended for DUI Intervention Group instead of Treatment Group, review/change their schedule needs if indicated
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certification for Alcohol Highway Safety Instructor as required by PA DUI Association and Department of Transportation
- C.R.N. Evaluation certification or knowledge of C.R.N. Evaluation required
- Willingness to consider obtaining other certifications such as Underage Drinking Instructor or CRN Evaluator preferred
- Willing to work a flexible schedule of evenings and weekends
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
