Job Summary:
Functions under the general direction of department leadership in Patient Access. Coordinates patient access for all phases of the revenue cycle from scheduling and registration up to and including referral and denial management.
Responsibilities:
- Complete Acknowledgement of Paternity form with mother.
- Demonstrates the ability to operate and efficiently utilize all systems and office equipment.
- Generate and complete all applicable forms and necessary communications while obtaining signature for consent to treatment and financial responsibility following the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations.
- Interview postpartum patients, verifying and collecting data necessary for completion of the birth certificate worksheet to enter via on line system DAVE while keeping within state mandated guidelines.
- Enter Hepatitis B vaccine information into DAVE per daily Hepatitis B log.
- Perform all corrections for vital statistics.
- Complete MA-112 form with mother when applicable.
- Field billing and patient inquiries as related to the birth registry process. This includes walk-ins seeking information from their birth often for passports or birth certificates.

Qualifications
- Completion of High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience with personal computer based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills.
- Two years experience in a medical/billing/fiscal or customer service function preferred.
- Medical terminology and third party health care coverage experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Initiative to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Able to work well under pressure.
