Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking for a new opportunity with a schedule that allows for a good work/life balance. UPMC is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to fill a position at Heart and Vascular Specialists. This position has no weekend or holiday hours.
There will be approx 30% travel involved between the three York Heart & Vascular offices:
Main Office: 1703 Innovation Drive, York 17404
East York: 1600 Sixth Ave, Suite 105, York PA 17403
Shrewsbury: 16324 Mt. Airy Road, Shrewsbury PA 17361
Responsibilities
- Draw blood.
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures under the requirements of the appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
