UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Lead CT Technologist

Description

Are you an experienced CT Technologist looking to advance your career into the management track? UPMC St. Margaret is looking to hire a Full-Time Lead CT Technologist to work on the daylight shift. Some of the many perks of this position are flexible working hours (8 or 10-hour shifts), and you would only be required to work one weekend a month. In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
  • Performs all responsibilities of CT Tech I and Advanced CT Tech II.
  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
  • CT Specialty Boards Completed.
  • 3 years CT experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT certified as a CT Technologist. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
 

  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
