We are hiring a Flex Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant to support the Transitional Care Unit (TCU). The 20-bed Transitional Care Unit serves primarily short-stay recuperative and rehabilitation patients—a majority are geriatric and/or stable post-op orthopedic and oncology patients. The TCU is a family- and patient-focused environment where collaboration and communication are paramount, and you should be comfortable working with wound vacs, hoyer lifts, and standard IV therapy. You will partner with the patient and his or her family, along with a diverse roster of therapists and counselors to help the patient return home with as much independence as possible. The TCU features a wide array of recreational activities, 24-hour visitation for family and friends, and an onsite PT/OT gym. OAPSA clearance is required. Patient care staff in department work on a rotating schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage . Availability for all shifts, including some weekends and holidays, is expected.
As a CNA, you will provide quality medical and physical care and comfort to residents and assure overall safety of the department in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
This position is eligible for a $500 Sign-On Bonus with a 1-year commitment!
Responsibilities:
• Perform patient care skill as directed by the RN/LPN in a safe manner according to policy and procedure
• Respond directly to patient requests and appropriately communicate the patient needs
• Assist with food distribution and feeding patients
• Assist with bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, nail care, hair care, and dressing
• Assist in transferring patients
• Document in the medical record according to established procedures
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of state approved Certified Nursing Assistant class and examination
• Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Licensure/Certifications:
• Current PA Certified Nursing Assistant certification required
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required within 30 days
• Act 34 and Older Adult Protective Services Act clearance (OAPSA)
