UPMC Corporate Revenue Cycle is hiring an Optimization Consultant to join our team! This role will work Monday through Friday during business hours. The Consultant will have the opportunity to have a hybrid schedule which includes working on site at Quantum I as well as at home.
The Optimization Consultant is responsible for leading Revenue Cycle Management projects/initiatives related to business process development and improvement and business process infrastructure. This position will focus on EPIC workflows.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present project status reports to appropriate stakeholders.
- Schedule and lead project status meetings with project stakeholders to assess progress and plan activities.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans for Revenue Cycle projects/initiatives, including requirements for internal and external (consultant) resources.
- Deliver process assessments to include process mapping, requirements identification, risk and feasibility analysis, baseline metrics and benchmarking studies.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices and trends in technology and process and identify ways to apply to current business practices.
- Conduct analysis and propose process improvement initiatives.
- Lead multi-functional, dedicated project teams in executing process improvement initiatives, including leading rapid improvement sessions using Lean techniques such as process mapping to remove waste from the processes, reduce cost and provide additional value to end users.
- Serve as a consultant in process optimization to business leaders.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for process improvement across the business enterprise.
- Drive projects focused on business needs, including customer satisfaction, process efficiency, and productivity.
- Work collaboratively with all Revenue cycle teams to develop technology leveraged solutions.
- Provide training and mentoring to all levels of the organization.
- Responsible for delivery of products/services within budget and targeted delivery date.
- Investigate areas for improvement in processes/service delivery.
- Act as a change agent to lead, facilitate, and manage change across the organization.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field is required Advanced degree (MBA) preferred
- Five years of Healthcare, Process Improvement or Revenue Cycle experience required
- Must possess knowledge of industry standard project management tools, methods and reports for resource planning and other project management functions.
