Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full-time Sr. Professional Staff Nurse to support the Mt. Oliver Clinic! 

Our RNs work daylight and evening hours. Monday through Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 
Additional travel is required to support all Magee-Womens Hospital Outpatient Clinic Neighborhood Centers located in Oakland, Clairton, Mt. Oliver, Wilkinsburg, and Monroeville. 

Hours and travel are subject to change based on business needs.

Responsibilities: 
 

  • Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulates daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner.  
  • Demonstrates critical thinking in the identification of clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for the patient within an episode of care.  
  • Practices solid communication skills and can articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers and to negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care and unit practices. Patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers. 
  • Creates a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. 
  • Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.  

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience
  • BSN preferred.
  • Womens Health/OB GYN experience preferred.
  • EpicCare experience preferred.
  • UPMC approved national certification OR Masters degree or higher in nursing required.
  • UPMC Professional Contribution required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Act 34 with renewal
