Purpose:
The Diversity Engagement & Inclusion Generalist provides consulting services for departments, business units, divisions, and community partners by providing recommendations on engagement and inclusion cultural improvements. Facilitates engagement and inclusion programs and initiatives to address leadership, staff, and community needs.

- Provides consulting and reporting services for departments, business units, divisions, and community partners by providing recommendations on engagement, diversity, and inclusion cultural improvements. Facilitates engagement and inclusion programs, reports, and initiatives to address leadership, staff, and community needs.
- The Diversity Engagement & Inclusion Generalist will serve as a collaborative partner with UPMC peers and staff members to address UPMC diversity, inclusion, employee engagement, and community engagement goals and metrics. Develops and prepares reports on results, makes presentations, and participates in committees.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans. Manage outcomes, tracking, and reporting for diversity and inclusion initiatives to determine their effectiveness, as well as manage dashboards/metrics.
- Acts as the liaison for HR, business unit, employees, employee resource groups, and diverse communities Conducts research to respond to business unit or community needs and provides relevant facts to recommend solutions.
- Support deployment of strategy to meet the diversity and inclusion needs of the organization involving culture, company, community, and customer.
- Actively participates in business unit, system-wide or community councils focused on diversity, employee engagement, retention, cultural competency, community health partnerships and engagement.
- Provide input and support regarding needed/required changes specific to internal and external programming.Maintain a positive rapport with and good working knowledge of all groups (UPMC and Community Based Organizations).
- Partners with business unit leaders on process understanding and decision making related to engagement, cultural awareness and community.
- Partner on developing and managing system-wide employee engagement and inclusion initiatives, Serve as a business unit partner and project coordinator for internal committees and employee resource groups
- Facilitates deployment of system-wide strategic programs to meet UPMC business needs in areas such as diversity, employee engagement, dignity and respect, and inclusion.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and one year of experience in Human Resources or community engagement required OR High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience in Human Resources or community engagement required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
