Description
- Attend the four-week training program to learn the following skills/duties
- UPMC nursing core Nursing Assistant responsibilities of blood glucose, weights, vital signs, intake and output, specimen collections and foley care
- At least four of the following tasks: phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, simple dressing, foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, or IV catheter removal.
- Activities of daily living and medical record documentation
- Comply with all EIC NA/PCT Training Program policies and procedures, including safety, personal conduct, and dress code
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must attend EIC training program if no previous hospital or pre-hospital training
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
