COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Food Service Attendant -Temporary

Description

Purpose: 

Responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation and service of nutritionally-appropriate and attractive meals. Practices appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of job. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills on a consistent basis.  This position will have various shift times between the hours of 6 am and 7:30 pm.  This position will require holiday and weekend shifts when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • In accordance with patients' respective dietary restrictions and menu orders, accurately and efficiently prepare meals for delivery at a variety of stations on the department's tray line
  • Comply with all departmental policy and procedure, including safety, personal conduct, and dress code
  • Courteously and empathetically interact with patients suffering from a range of ailments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Serve patients their in-room meals while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
  • Perform required sanitation of assigned areas in compliance with Department of Health guidelines

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Strongly Preferred
