Description
UPMC Family Hospice is currently hiring a Full-Time Hospice Aide. This position is located in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Canterbury Place.
This position will be 3 12-hour shifts, rotating between 7A-7P and 7P-7A.
Purpose:
Provide designated care under the direction of the primary service provider in the hospice inpatient unit (IPU) to achieve identified goals of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all required agency meetings.
- Identify, develop and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of services we provide.
- Communicate appropriately with the interdisciplinary IPU care team in a timely manner, reporting any changes in patient's condition to appropriate professional staff.
- Provide safe and direct personal care to patients in the IPU setting under direct supervision of appropriate professional
- Fulfill agency responsibilities by completing all required forms accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
- Must have successfully completed a training and competency evaluation program as specified in Home Health and/or Hospice as applicable..
- One (1) year experience - Preferred
- Certified Nurse Aide - Preferred
- Must maintain annual competency evaluation scores as determined by regulatory requirements.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Required: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34
- OAPSA
