COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Landscaper (Gardener and Groundskeeper) - Sherwood Oaks

Description

UPMC Sherwood Oaks is hiring a Full-Time Gardener/Landscaper!

This is a Monday-Friday, daylight role. Weekends are required when it snows and as needed in busier spring/fall months. Overtime can be required in winter due to snow. 

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of plant/shrub pruning and timing of work
  • Annual plantings and flower bed maintenance
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs independently, 100 lbs with 2-person team lift
  • Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with and maintain general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas.
  • Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
  • Perform all work following infection control procedures.
  • Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
  • Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Assist in snow removal.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a trade school program is preferred.
  • One year of general maintenance-related work experience is preferred.
