The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Director, Women's Health Ambulatory Services & Program



Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC is hiring a Full time Director to help support Women's Health Ambulatory Services & Program Development. .

Under the supervision and direction of the WHSL leadership, this position is responsible for project work towards the effective management of the nonclinical operations of Women?s Imaging at the main hospital, as well as all off site locations. Additionally, this individual is responsible for partnering with the University of Pittsburgh Physician Division of Women?s Health for coordination of services within the Women?s Health Service Line and the ambulatory centers for Women?s Health. This may include development of new programs, locations and/or moves to new locations, marketing and staff development/training where staff are shared.


  • Provide follow up for deficiencies identified through proficiency testing programs and ensures corrective action plans are in place.
  • Participate in identifying and developing new clinical and administrative programs to better serve the population.
  • Participate in executing improvement in the administration of clinical, fiscal and administrative operations for diagnostic programs and services.
  • In conjunction with senior management, responsible for developing operating and capital budget and ensuring that department meets budget goals.
  • Facilitate compliance with JCAHO requirement by continually monitoring the organization?s service delivery system, initiating change as required and providing oversight of the regulatory function for all services in partnership with the Director of Imaging and Director of Women?s Imaging.
  • Demonstrates the ability to engage with medical staff as partners in achieving mutual goals of clinical quality and organizational/programmatic success while providing timely follow-up on patient/physician complaints.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish priorities and perform assignments in the allotted time frames while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintains oversight of all UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital/Services outpatient facilities for appropriate and consistent customer services.
  • Works closely with both UPP and Hospital administrations to ensure all areas under the Women?s Health division are in coordination to develop market strategy and ensure marketing/branding are consistent.
  • Create a work environment conducive to productive performance and job satisfaction. Ensures open communication, sensitivity to personnel problems and recognition of performance. Conduct monthly staff meetings for the purpose of dissemination of information and monitoring employee concerns, needs and suggestions.




  • Master's degree in healthcare administration or related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in health care administration and program development. Minimum of 3 years experience in an academic medical center
  • OR successful completion of the Administrative Fellowship program.
  • Excellent communication, managerial, organizational and problem-solving skills as demonstrated by past experience.
  • Must also have knowledge of external regulatory requirement including JCAHO, DPW and Allegheny County. Position requires an individual who is skilled in verbal and written communication and collaborates well.
  • The individual will consistently adhere to the mission statement and values of UPMC in the execution of this role.
