UPMC Children's Hospital is hiring a full time Clinical Education Coordinator to join their radiology team! We are looking for someone who is committed to making the education/training process impactful to students and new staff. If this sounds like you - apply today!

This position will consist of varied hours with holiday and week shift coverage. There will be occasional travel to satellite locations. 

Coordinate the training of student technologists, oversee general image quality of exams for interpretation, and oversee departmental continuing education program. Also perform all duties associated with staff radiologic technologist position.


  • Implement ongoing continuing education for department staff.
  • Monitor student's progress and identify and address problem areas and insufficiencies.
  • Perform all duties of staff technologist as outline in Radiologic Technologist Job Description.
  • Coordinate and supervise the training and development of student technologists.
  • Plan student rotations through various areas with assigned technologists.
  • Ensure patient safety through ensuring patient is cared for utilizing the Guidelines and Principles of Radiation safety and adhere to hospital policies on infection control.
  • Instruct and assist students with patient /parent pre-procedure teaching, positioning, technique selection, film critique, safe equipment operation, and radiation safety practices.
  • Communicate with affiliated program staff to improve student performance and training.
  • Communicate with Chief Technologist to correct quality performance problems with technologists
  • Oversee general image quality of exams performed within the department and approve or reject images presented for radiologic interpretation.



  • Associate's degree in radiologic technology required
  • 3 years of imaging experience required
  • Pediatric & supervisory or student experience required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 Child Clearance
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
