UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

Develop strategies to create and/or acquire new products, services and capabilities to meet emerging market opportunities and further differentiate our existing product suite. Support product development and growth strategies through the management of new products and features within the Healthplan.  Drive methods and processes that effectively accelerate the product development life cycle.  Create and deliver a holistic, integrated, customer experience across multi-channel product, solution and service programs that will exceed expectations. Manage the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and working closely with sales, marketing and operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met and we are delivering winning products.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading the cultural transformation of the employees to create an environment that is customer centric.
  • Use our persona set, ideate and create contextual scenario design that will be used to drive business requirement scenarios.
  • Develop and support strategies to develop and/or acquire new product, services and capabilities to meet emerging market opportunities and further differentiate our existing product suite.
  • Provide leadership to ensure execution on all segment strategies.
  • Lead functional or segment teams or projects.
  • Develop a multiyear customer experience strategy within program assignment.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research projects in support of target audience creative and message development.
  • Understand current product and service offerings and develop appropriate strategic changes to better manage the product for profitable growth.
  • Strategically assist in the design and delivery of a holistic consistent customer experience.
  • Assess key market factors, including competitive landscape, consumer insights and unmet customer needs as input to innovative products, services and programs to meet the unique needs of targeted buyer subgroups.
  • Ensure that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.
  • Understand key macro trends, environmental forces and UPMC strengths and weaknesses and assess their impact to the project.
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for the segments.
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition.
  • Be able to clearly articulate the value proposition and brand promise of the various products and segments.
  • Capture all requirements and incorporate into a seamless customer experience. Align to market segment needs.
  • Effectively communicate concepts, design rationale and findings to the organization.
  • Direct product, market and customer research to qualify program development ideas and quantify business opportunity.
  • Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop, lead and implement the segments comprehensive, multi-channel marketing plan.
  • Work internally with our channel leaders to provide product training and product consultation to ensure a value sales approach is achieved.

 

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree required, Masters or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in health insurance or related business field
  • 3 years of management experience required,
  • Project Management or product implementation management will be considered.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including: Outlook, Work, Excel and Access as well as Internet ExplorerSelf- starter with ability to deal with ambiguity and to adapt and embrace change
  • Exhibit cross-functional leadership effectiveness in development and troubleshooting requirements to support large and customized offerings
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills creative thinker and problem solver ability to come up with new ideas and messaging concepts that meet current and future business objectives
  • Proven ability to drive results, lead cross-functional teams, influence others and foster collaboration
