UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

This role will be supporting our Hospital Division Finance Team. Our Susquehanna Finance Team is an operational support department that handles financial data analytics and doesn't have a focus on transactional or accounting functions. As the Financial Analyst, Senior, you will conduct and document complex financial analysis projects that convey results to our operational leaders to drive informed decision making. You will also provide functional advice or training to less experienced financial analysts.

Responsibilities:

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported.
  • Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
  • Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Plan and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience is required.
  •  OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related work experience.
  • Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required. 


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPA/MBA preferred.
