UPMC is looking for a Paralegal Associate to join their team. This will be a temporary position that will start AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and continue through September 2022. This position will be located out of the UPMC US Steel Building in downtown Pittsburgh. This role is a HYBRID ROLE between working FROM HOME and working ON SITE the decision will vary based on workload.
Description
Under direct supervision, the Paralegal Associate applies basic level of knowledge of employment-based immigration law to provide legal support service to immigration law function. Prepares immigration forms and documents, compliance files, communicates with employees, and works as part of a team in performing other tasks related to hiring/employing immigration sponsored individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance to immigration law function within the UPMC Legal Department.
- Completes simple to moderately complex legal filings.
- Obtains legal documents and information from governmental agencies as required on behalf of UPMC hospitals and entities.
- Prepares letters, forms, and compliance files for employment-based immigration law matters.
- Performs legal reach utilizing both local and electronic research tools.
- Develops and maintains a basic understanding of internal processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School and either 2 years of legal training or 2 years of education in legal studies.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- H-1B Visa experience preferred.
- Good problem solving and analysis skills required.
- Good communication and organizational skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.
