Description

Purpose:
The program manager is responsible for the administrative and clinical leadership and direction of the TeleSitter program. This includes the conceptualization, organization, and implementation of the program. Responsible for coordinating the overall direction of the program in collaboration with all other supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, direct, and coordinate all day-to-day functions of the TeleSitter program.
  • Provide clinical/administrative supervision to supervisors, and other program staff as needed on a weekly basis.
  • Supervise training and orientation to all new staff and ongoing training to current employees as per Regulations.
  • Manage programmatic issues related to all services.
  • Monitor and manage all cases that are either entering or are currently in service.
  • Monitor program productivity on a regular basis.
  • Manage and oversee the flow of clinical paperwork related to service delivery.
  • Participate in WPIC meetings and outside agency meetings as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Work directly with the Department of Human Resources (HR) to screen candidates for positions within the program.
  • Conduct interviews with candidates and review potential employees with a Human Resources representative.
  • Work collaboratively with Nursing leadership to develop and expand the program to meet the needs of the target population as it corresponds to the overall vision of UPMC.
  • Defines annual strategic goals, which coincide with the mission of the service line.
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains the Program within the proposed budget.
  • Demonstrates compliance with Program policies and procedures.
  • Develops procedures and a reporting structure to measure the quality of care.
  • Develops outcome procedures demonstrating program effectiveness.
  • Conducts individual evaluations of staff performance within the set period of time.
  • Conducts an evaluation of program goals from the previous year, identifying accomplishments and areas of need to be used in strategic planning for the next fiscal year.
  • Conducts all hiring, promotions, and disciplinary action for program staff.
  • Provides or coordinates effective group training and individual supervision for all program staff.
  • Scheduling, and meeting with executives at area hospitals to improve the program.
  • Meet with Finance
  • Meet with unit directors at each hospital to go over barriers to not using Tele-Sitter.
  • Meet with Tele-Sitters monthly to go over the challenges of the program.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required; or associate degree and 3+ years of healthcare experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Tele-Sitter experience preferred
