The Marketing Strategy Expert is responsible for leading high-priority strategic efforts that directly affect B2B acquisition and retention programs. In addition to developing and executing strategic marketing activities/campaigns/tactics, the Marketing Strategy Expert must be able to multi-task, work well with internal clients, departments, and company leaders, maintain relationships with external vendors, interpret current and future business needs, assess member, provider and market response to health plan and competitor initiatives, improve process and cost-efficiency, and provide strategic input across all strategies and campaigns. All of this must align with and support goals and objectives. This role is intended to serve as a subject matter expert relative to the areas covered. The Marketing Strategy Expert is an individual contributor and does not manage staff.

The Marketing Communications Department is based in downtown Pittsburgh at the US Steel Tower. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position. This is a hybrid role, with some remote/work-from-home privileges.


  • Provide strategic input on B2B marketing strategies based on competitive analysis and market research.
  • Provide strategic direction for B2B marketing and retention activities that promote the value of the health plan.
  • Maintain relationships and ensure strategic success with external vendors as needed.
  • Maintain compliance and brand standards.
  • Lead the development, execution, and implementation of strategic marketing and thought leadership campaigns that support retention and engagement efforts.
  • Maintain digital content hubs on website and with publication partner.
  • Mentor and partner with team members to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase productivity, and improve cost-efficiency across marketing campaigns and tactics.
  • Evaluate performance via analytics of each strategy, identify opportunities for enhancement/refinement, and provide continuous recommendations for how to further support retention goals.


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-7 years experience with marketing campaign development and marketing materials development.
  • Knowledge of healthcare and expertise/specialization in retention and engagement.
  • Ability to interpret CMS marketing instructions, marketing reports, and analyses to take appropriate actions and make problem-solving decisions pertaining to marketing.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating between business units and identifying marketing needs/opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success executing marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills.
  • Excellent oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and campaigns and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to support and build relationships with many departments and external vendors.
  • Ability to streamline processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency internally and with other business units/vendors.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment.
  • Ability to work with senior management.
