Anesthesia Associate (Multiple Experience Levels)

Description

We are currently offering a generous sign-on bonus for the Anesthesia Tech title and higher! Sign-On Bonus Details:            

  • 0-1 years of experience: 2-year commitment $5,000; 3-year commitment $7,000    
  • 1-2 years of experience: 2-year commitment $7,000; 3-year commitment $10,000
  • 2+ years of experience: 2-year commitment $10,000; 3-year commitment $15,000

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring full time Anesthesia Associates to support our Anesthesiology department. In this role, you will perform a variety of duties related to and involving the processing and preparing of room, equipment, and supplies for the patients undergoing anesthetic procedures. You will work rotating nights, evenings, daylights, weekends, and holidays.


This role is a valued step in a robust career ladder with opportunities for continued growth and advancement. Title and salary will be determined based upon education and experience. No experience is required for our entry-level Anesthesia Associate title!


Responsibilities:

  • Assists in stocking the carts and surgical suites with the required supplies as outlined on the anesthesia surgical suite stock par list.
  • Assists in turning over rooms assuring minimal downtime between cases.
  • Helps maintain an adequate supply of all stock items in work room and keeps the work room clean and in an orderly condition.
  • Retrieves and appropriately distributes the equipment as directed to prepare a patient for anesthesia.
  • Under supervision disassembles, decontaminates and sterilizes anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months - 1 year of health care experience preferred. If no previous hospital or pre-hospital training, successful completion of UPMC anesthesia technician class required post-hire.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to progress to an Anesthesia Technician position within 6 months-1 year of hire.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) preferred
