Research Specialist | Western Psychiatric Hospital

Description

The primary study is a multi-site randomized controlled trial for adolescents and young adults where a digital behavioral app and treatment as usual is compared to treatment as usual for patients who report depressive symptoms. The Research Specialist will assist in the day- to- day operations of the study, which includes interacting with physicians, consenting patients, completing measures with participants, data entry, coordinating and attending study meetings, and other tasks as assigned. The employee may be asked to assist with additional studies within the department. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, mature, and independent person who can follow direction and is eager to take on new responsibilities.

This position is grant funded.

Purpose:

Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s). Collect and gather research data for research project.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
