Description
Purpose:
Maintain system buildings, equipment and grounds.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others.
- Perform ground maintenance including lawn care and snow/ice removal during the winter season.
- Assist in carpentry activities as they related to repairs, renovation or constructions.
- Paint and install/repair vinyl wall covering.
- Promote the hospital's image and maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a health care center.
- Demonstrate dependability, reliability and independent judgement recognizing priorities to
- Demonstrate cost consciousness through efficient use of time, materials, staff, equipment, supplies and available resources.
- Adhere to department Policy and Procedures Manuals.
- Maintain outdoor equipment in good working condition.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all outdoor equipment including hospital motor vehicles.
- Repair wall surfaces prior to application of finishes.
- Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally.
- Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
- Perform security function when required.
- Operate cars, light trucks and maintenance equipment.
- Maintain, repair and install all types of miscellaneous equipment (such as wheelchairs and carts).
- Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others.
- Transport System equipment and materials.
- Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions.
- Accommodate department needs and acceptance of appropriate authority.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational/technical training in 1 or more skilled trades preferred.
- Maintenance experience preferred.
- May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
- No contact with medications is allowed.
