UPMC Health Plan Medicare/SNP Sales is seeking a Casual Government Product Sales Representative!
Flexible position aimed to grow and retain UPMC for Life Health Plan membership during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period. Agents are to sell Medicare Advantage and Medicare Special Needs plans by handling inbound calls and making outbound calls to Medicare beneficiaries, offering Medicare education, benefit reviews, plan recommendations, and assisting with enrollment over the phone.
Casual flexibility through the first half of the year, transition to part-time hours, and then full-time hours from June/July 1 (based on start date) -December 7th. Competitive base plus commission package.
Educational / Knowledge Requirements:
- Associates degree required, or equivalent experience --Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1 to 2 years phone-based customer service or sales experience required, health care or Medicare market preferred
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills
- Rapport and relationship building skills a must
- Must be self-driven to achieve sales goals in a competitive market
- Must exhibit leadership qualities and mentorship abilities
Responsibilities:
- Must complete all department required training for Government Product Sales Representatives, and any additional training management required for Casual Sales Representatives
- Maintain expected level of availability for inbound phone calls and make expected amount of outbound calls
- Achieve and maintain consistent high-quality scores from QA
- Excel at book management
- Utilize multiple applications simultaneously to ensure accurate information presented to callers
- Maintain compliance with all CMS and UPMC policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Assist beneficiaries on behalf of colleagues when unavailable
- Support department sales processes as directed
- Required Hours:
- January – May: One 8-hour shift, every 5 weeks
- May/June (depending on training start date) – September: Five, 8-hour days, per week
- October – December 7th: 40 hours per week (five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts), with at least one evening shift weekly, unlimited overtime available, weekend availability is required
- December 8th-December 31st: Hours reduced to 16- 24 hours, per week or based on business need
Qualifications
- Associates degree required, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 to 4 years phone based sales or customer service experience required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining PA and OH Department of Insurance health and accident producer license within 30 days of hire.Must also complete annual Medicare certification requirements, including AHIP and compliance training.
