The Senior Manager Procure to Pay is responsible for leading UPMC's Corporate Supply Chain Management Procurement to Pay department and processes. The Senior Manager process includes vendor master administration, procurement of goods and services, accounts payable, travel and business expense management, buy/pay channel compliance, and support services for all internal & external supply chain customers. The Sr. Manager, Procure to Pay is responsible for providing expertise on all related functions, leading all major projects affecting Procure to pay, plays an advisory role for supply chain integrations, and engages with stakeholders across the organization on Procure to pay process improvement initiatives.

This position will work Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm from the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh. There will be routine travel once every 2 months to Williamsport and Harrisburg. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides operational direction to several P2P centers of excellence/centers of focus and a large team of resources. Continuously identify, plan, execute, and monitor process improvement projects & new technology initiatives to support P2P operations growth and regional expansion.
  • Primary accountability for strategy and analysis of P2P key performance indicators and Service Level Commitments (SLA's) for all areas of P2P. Foster cross functional teamwork and lead collaborative workshops with supply chain peers and end users to proactively improve P2P processes and service levels.
  • Manage and approve P2P SOX processes and testing, ensure compliance to P2P self-assessment testing and P2P key controls
  • Manage relationships and execute agreements with third party resource providers
  •  AP automation, Distribution Management, EDI exchange partner, Audit Recovery.
  • Lead third party service provider business reviews and validate compliance to the established service agreements
  • Develop and execute ERP & SCM Business Process training and retraining opportunities for the team, end users, and customers.
  • Directs departmental training and mentoring process to maximize team members effectiveness and efficiency. Directs P2P staff to provide consistent, high quality customer service to all UPMC business units
  • Understand, embrace, and participate in major business objectives, company vision, and core values.
  • Establish annual team and individual objectives and conduct performance reviews
  • Lead vendor performance management initiatives and partner with other SCM leadership to drive innovation, change, and cost recovery opportunities.
  • Manage conversion of existing non-compliant purchases and payments to optimal purchasing channels and approved payment solutions
  • Serve as SCM P2P subject matter expert and lead for hospital implementations and system upgrades.
  • Be an advocate for Supply Chain Management processes and policies; articulate the business value to all levels of the organization and external parties.
  • Champion the needs of business teams and stakeholders while maintaining alignment with P2P processes and policies; ensure what is implemented meets the goals and KPIs of the department
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in managing department budgets, resource plans and cost containment initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Current Procure-To-Pay Certification and Associate Degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  •  A minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field is required
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Manager Procure to Pay, Sr. P2P Process Improvement Lead , or related role is required
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience managing direct reports
