Description
Purpose:
Responsible for the training, supervision, and performance of information representatives and greeters to maintain patient, visitor, and associate safety, satisfaction, and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Directly supporting and developing the Information Representative staff working by their side; ensuring any safety protocols for incoming foot traffic are adhered to for all entrances; employee rounding, scheduling.
- Availability for flexible scheduling to cover staff vacancies as needed.
- Supervise services according to department standards and complete quality control and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Schedule personnel to meet operational needs in accordance with volume and budgetary guidelines.
- Provide direct supervision of hourly associates and their adherence to all UPMC policies and procedures and department standards and guidelines.
- Ensure the safety of patient information and patient privacy is protected in compliance with HIPPA, ensuring compliance with UPMC policies and guidelines around mask-wearing and support person monitoring
- Maintain inventory levels to ensure they are adequate to meet the needs of the operation. Oversee security of inventory
- Contribute to relevant and timely performance feedback to associates through the performance review process.
- Conduct the orientation, training, and coaching of new team members.
- Ensure routine competency checks are completed for all associates with appropriate follow-through.
- Conduct and document service recovery on all customer complaints as per operational guidelines.
- Coach and discipline associates as appropriate and in accordance with Human Resource policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- 3 years of relevant experience required; prior leadership experience preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
