UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. Description

Purpose:
Perform regular quality assurance audits on transcribed documents and provide feedback to management and vendor(s). Process pended reports and corrections based upon departmental turnaround times.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the dictation system to ensure the turnaround time goals are being met.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve minor PC hardware and software issues.
  • Provide phone and audix coverage.
  • Process pended reports and corrections based on departmental turnaround times.
  • Provide feedback to management and vendor(s) regarding trends that are found while performing quality assurance audits.
  • Provide feedback to management and vendor(s) regarding performance based on the quality assurance audits.
  • Log the quality assurance results and maintain all associated spreadsheets and distribute as necessary.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
  • Perform quality assurance audits on transcribed documents according to departmental quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure that the dictation/transcription system is in working order and report any issues to the appropriate vendor and/or staff following departmental guidelines.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of acute care medical transcription experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, transcriptionists, Information Systems, and clinical staff is essential.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
