Description
Purpose:
Perform regular quality assurance audits on transcribed documents and provide feedback to management and vendor(s). Process pended reports and corrections based upon departmental turnaround times.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the dictation system to ensure the turnaround time goals are being met.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve minor PC hardware and software issues.
- Provide phone and audix coverage.
- Process pended reports and corrections based on departmental turnaround times.
- Provide feedback to management and vendor(s) regarding trends that are found while performing quality assurance audits.
- Provide feedback to management and vendor(s) regarding performance based on the quality assurance audits.
- Log the quality assurance results and maintain all associated spreadsheets and distribute as necessary.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
- Perform quality assurance audits on transcribed documents according to departmental quality assurance standards.
- Ensure that the dictation/transcription system is in working order and report any issues to the appropriate vendor and/or staff following departmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of acute care medical transcription experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, transcriptionists, Information Systems, and clinical staff is essential.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
