COVID-19 Vaccination Information

Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Administrative Specialist Sr.

Description

Purpose:
Provides administrative and support services to department management to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the executive payroll timesheets for signature and submit them to Corporate Payroll for processing.
  • Complete timecards for Corporate Payroll through Kronos as requested.
  • Prepare and maintain all correspondence, action agendas, and filing systems.
  • Maintain statistical data, create, and maintain data in spreadsheets or other formats as required.
  • Review and prioritize mail for handling as necessary and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to department management as assigned.
  • Schedule various meetings and notifies members of the meeting, prepare documentation (including agendas) of said meetings and prepare information for distribution.
  • Compose and draft routine and specific documents.
  • Record and accurately transcribe meeting minutes as assigned.
  • Make appropriate decisions within a defined scope of authority.
  • Direct other decisions to the proper authority in a timely manner.
  • Answer incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner and directs them to appropriate personnel.
  • Research, organize, and complete projects and assignments in a thorough manner.
  • Accurately maintain appointment calendars as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Secretarial Science or equivalent education/experience required.
  • 3-5 years previous administrative or secretarial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Excellent secretarial skills preferred.
  • Proficient in various software packages (i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint) required.
