Purpose:
UPP Department of Radiology is hiring a full-time GME Academic Manager for the Oakland location. You will work the Monday - Friday daylight shift with flexible start times between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. After a successful training period, you will have the ability for some remote work options. This position involves high level administration in the Department's academic affairs. Responsible for residency and fellowship training programs, academic affairs, alumni affairs, and project management and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the program directors and the GME office to lead, manage, and support the radiology residency training programs.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and all employment needs for the residents in collaboration with the GME office.
- Ensure program compliance with all UPMC and ACGME guidelines and policies.
- Responsible for processing all resident travel and expense reimbursements through the UPMC expense module and the purchasing of educational materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an academic/medical department.
- Prior ACGME experience preferred
- The position requires knowledge of the policies and procedures of the University of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Medical Education Program Office of GME, University of Pittsburgh Physicians, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Electronic Residency Application Service, the National Resident Matching Program, related specialty boards and other academic and governmental organizations. The position requires contact with all these organizations, both internal and external. Must be able to initiate work and work independently on a variety of simultaneous projects. The position requires innovation to solve complex problems. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and forward planning. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and a system-wide focus.
