Description
This full-time Research Associate is responsible for performing research-related and administrative functions in support of a clinical trial being conducted in 24 pediatric practices affiliated with the Medical Home Program of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (PA AAP). The providers in these practices will be trained to deliver an evidence-based intervention program (Doctor Office Collaborative Care, DOCC) for young children (5-12 years old) with challenging behaviors and comorbid Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as their caregivers. Practice staff including the primary behavioral health resource, all primary care providers, the lead physician/medical director, and the practice manager, will deliver this intervention program or support its delivery. The study will evaluate the impact of care team and leadership level strategies designed to facilitate the implementation of DOCC. Our treatment research program has a team- focused, collegial atmosphere where people enjoy working together and supporting each other's efforts.
This position will involve contact with study participants, scheduling appointments, administering research questionnaires, follow-up of study participants, collecting, entering and verifying data, assisting in quality control procedures and general clinical research assistance. The individual will work a hybrid schedule (in-office and remote work) and will rely upon different technologies (e.g., Zoom, MS TEAMS)based on the needs of the study. This research associate will maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings, in order to meet the needs of the participants and study.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to participants’ inquiries and requests, maintain individual case/research files, and monitor assessments.
- Distribute participant payments under the oversight of the Program Manager.
- For participants who must (or prefer to) complete the consent or assessments by phone or mail, RA will be the primary point of contact for these processes.
- Create agenda and record minutes for weekly team meetings in which study design and project status are discussed.
- Participate in study initiation procedures (e.g., prepare materials for IRB submissions, develop and document procedures for data collection).
- Conduct phone interviews as needed to assess participant safety concerns with the support of the Program Manager.
- Maintain and update subject information database.
- Conduct on-line and/or library searches as needed by the PI as necessary.
- May check submitted audio files against fidelity guidelines, grading this audio to determine participants’ fidelity to the intervention model.
- Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required preferably in Psychology or related field.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
- Experience working with families preferred; comparable customer service experience considered.
