UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

Purpose:
In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

 

  • 3. Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
  • 1. Performs all responsibilities of CT Tech I and Advanced CT Tech II.
  • 2. Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
  • 4. Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
  • 5. Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
  • 6. Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
  • CT Specialty Boards Completed.
  • 3 years CT experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT certified as a CT Technologist. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
 

  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
