Description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Echocardio Clinical Specialist to support their team in Oakland!!!

This position will work Monday-Friday daylight hours

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, provides technical expertise to multiple business units. Functions as a resource to staff to provide orientation, continuing education and protocol development.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound diagnostic examinations in accordance with Level I and Level II Advanced Sonographer.
  • Leads training on new techniques and protocols for research studies and collaborates with cardiologists and researchers where applicable to identify new techniques and problem solving resolutions.
  • Creates and implements new training programs, where applicable, and assists with the startup of new offsite locations. Responsibilities for new locations include, but are not limited to, working on reporting systems and image management, obtaining appropriate images and effectively communicating with attending physicians as well as co-workers and patients
  • Responsible for tech quality assurance program and the reviewing and updating of protocols alongside of or in place of the lead sonographer. Assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment
  • Assist with accreditation responsibilities.
  • Serves as a technical resource to sonographers on a daily operational basis. Assist technologist with continuing education needs and participates as a peer delegate in staff annual performance reviews.
  • Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to maintain industry standards in imaging techniques and disseminates information to imaging departmental leadership and as a part of new hire orientation.

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or professional equivalent required.
  • 3 years of ultrasound experience required.
  • Level II Advanced Sonographer experience required.
  • Performance review consistent with minimum of Strong/Solid performance on last performance review.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography RDCS certification (registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International RCS certification (registered cardiac sonographer) required.CPR/BLS requiredAct 33, 34, 73 as required by business unit

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
