Job Summary:
The Director, Financial Reporting will assist the Corporate Controller as the authority for judgmental and technical accounting issuesand serve as the primary point of contact for the System's external auditors. The Director, Financial Reporting will be responsible for delivering financial reports and financial forecasts to the Chief Financial Officer and the VP of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis. This position will be working Monday through Friday, standard business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal financial reporting submissions to Corporate FP&A team on a monthly or ad hoc basis.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and serve as authority in judgmental and technical accounting issues, including consistency in System-wide accounting practices. Evaluate and ensure appropriate application of GAAP and statutory accounting principles. Research technical accounting and controllership issues, document conclusions and discuss with management and the Company's independent auditors.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, including those required to assess acquisitions, international expansion or other growth related matters.
- Responsible for managing and mentoring department's Finance Management Rotation (FMR) program participant.
- Serve as System-wide liaison for all external audit activities including planning, fieldwork and financial reporting for the annual consolidated audit, quarterly reviews, bond offerings and other separate company audits as required.
- Drive continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related business field required.
- Minimum of seven years of related work experience required.
- Minimum of two years managerial or supervisory experience required.CPA/MBA or equivalent advance degree preferred.
- Prior experience with a healthcare related company or Big Four preferred.
- Strong management and communication skills and an in-depth knowledge of GAAP.
