Description

Purpose:

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is internationally recognized for its leadership in the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer and is the region's only comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute.

As the preeminent institution in western Pennsylvania for the delivery of cancer care, the performance of basic, translational, and clinical research, and the education of the next generation of cancer researchers and physicians, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is exceptionally well-positioned to contribute to the global effort to reduce the burden of cancer.

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring a FLEX Full-Time Courier to support the Hillman Cancer Center Medical Oncology network office located at UPMC Somerset Hospital located in Somerset, PA.  This position will work a Monday through Friday daylight schedule between 8:00 am to 1:30 pm each day and may work additional hours as needed.

The incumbent will be accountable for providing courier service of labs & Pharmacy products  between the Cancer Center and the Hospital with patient escort and additional help and services as needed

.
Responsibilities:

  • Sort all interoffice and incoming US mail as required.
  • Organize mail for delivery to various drop-off/pick-up sites within The Cancer Centers.
  • Follow the schedule set by the Department.
  • Promptly answer all pages and take appropriate action to take care of urgent deliveries.
  • Pick up and distribute clean lab coats on assigned days.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Complete compliance training as well as hospital and department fire/safety and infection control training and maintain current knowledge of safety procedures within the hospital and department.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current and valid driver's license required.
